DENVER (AP) -- Former Denver television weatherman Warren Chandler has died at the age of 83.

Chandler's son, Michael Chandler, says he died last week at his home in Westminster.

Warren Chandler spent almost 40 years on local radio and TV, mostly at KMGH-TV.

Though he was often recognized by viewers, longtime KMGH cameraman Steve Kady says, Chandler had no ego.

Chandler was born in Denver on June 6, 1926, and graduated from South High School. He earned a degree in communications at the University of Denver.

He married Loni Moore on March 20, 1948. The couple spent two years in Chile with the Peace Corps in the late 1970s.

Chandler is survived by his wife, a son and daughter, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
