NORWOOD, Colo. (AP) -- Firefighters have taken advantage of cooler weather to build containment lines around 25 percent of a canyon blaze in southwest Colorado.

Fire information officer Laura McConnell says the fire is burning on an estimated 3,100 acres of mostly federal land, including the San Miguel Canyon.

The fire started Saturday when a power line fell, and flames were fanned by high winds. No structures are threatened, but a few campsites were evacuated.

McConnell says winds Tuesday had calmed down enough for a Type III helicopter to fly, and a Type I helicopter was arriving from Utah to help crews from the air.

A Type II incident management team took over management of the fire Monday night.
