CENTENNIAL, Colo. (AP) — Jury selection continues in the third trial stemming from the 2005 killing of a murder witness and his fiancee.

Twenty-eight-year-old Perish Carter faces first-degree murder charges in the deaths of Javad Marshall-Fields and Vivian Wolfe. Prosecutors say Marshall-Fields was gunned down to stop him from testifying against Carter's stepbrother, Robert Ray, who was accused of a 2004 killing.

Ray was sentenced to death earlier this month.

Jury selection in Carter's trial started Friday and continues Monday. Prosecutors say Carter drove Ray and triggerman Mario Owens the night of the killing. Carter's defense says he is mentally retarded and was taken advantage of by Ray and Owens.
