CENTENNIAL, Colo. (AP) — An Aurora man convicted of second-degree murder in the stabbing death of his wife has been sentenced to 48 years in prison, with five years of parole.

Forty-one-year-old Matthew James Watkins received the maximum sentence in the death of his wife, Cora Lunde Watkins, in January 2008.

Prosecutors say he stabbed his wife numerous times at their home after an argument. Their two young children were home at the time.
