DENVER (AP) -- More snow and rain are headed to Colorado as a Pacific storm front moves into the state from Utah.

Heavy rain pounded the Denver area Friday in a repeat of Thursday's deluges that held up and eventually ended the Colorado Rockies game after eight innings.

In the mountains, forecasts call for 4 to 10 inches of new snow overnight. The National Weather Service has issued winter weather advisories that include the towns of Aspen, Vail, Crested Butte, Breckenridge and Fairplay.

Strong winds whipping up snow could also make driving difficult in the mountains.

The snow is expected to taper off Saturday, likely turning into a mixture of snow and rain.
