WINDSOR, Colo. (AP) -- A committee of parents and educators say they want stronger anti-drug and alcohol education instead of random drug testing to cut abuse by students at a northern Colorado high school.

The committee says an online survey conducted two weeks ago found little support for random drug testing at Windsor High School. Committee members will present their recommendation when the school board meets on Monday.

Under the district's proposal, students would have to take random drug and alcohol tests to park at the school and participate in extracurricular activities. Students who test positive would face a suspension from the activity and have to take counseling.

The committee says the policy doesn't target the entire school like education would.
