Fort Carson welcoming 240 soldiers back home

FORT CARSON, Colo. (AP) -- Fort Carson is planning a ceremony to welcome home more than 240 soldiers who were deployed for about a year to Afghanistan.

The soldiers are from the 984th Military Police Company and the 759th Military Police Battalion Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment. They are scheduled to arrive Wednesday at Fort Carson.

The 984th MP Company worked with the Afghan National Police in the Nuristan, Nangarhar, Kunar and Lagman provinces, and the 759th MP HHD conducted combined operations with the Afghan border police and Afghan National Police in the Nuristan, Nangarhar, Kunar and Lagman provinces.

Both units also supported Combined Joint Task Force 82 and units from the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division.
