ASPEN, Colo. (AP) — Prosecutors are investigating a businesswoman's allegations of election law violations in Aspen.

Deputy District Attorney Tony Hershey confirmed last week that an investigation has begun in response to an affidavit filed by Marilyn Marks. He says the affidavit won't be made public because that could compromise the criminal investigation.

Marks has declined to comment on the affidavit but says it lists alleged election irregularities, including many allegations concerning the election service the city hired to help it conduct the May 2009 election, when it started using instant runoff voting.
