COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (AP) -- Commerce City police say an officer shot and killed a wanted man after he allegedly rammed his vehicle into a patrol car.

Police say the shooting happened after officers confronted the man at a mobile home park Thursday morning. Authorities say the man was wanted for felony escape in Boulder county. His name has not been released.

Police say officers had set up surveillance around the suspect's home and confronted him when he tried to leave.

Police spokesman Christian Rasmussen says an officer opened fire when the man crashed his car into a patrol car. A passenger who was with the suspect was also wounded by police fire. The officer whose car was hit was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
