SNOWMASS VILLAGE, Colo. (AP) -- Snowmass Village is considering a proposal from a private company to build a solar farm on 1.5 acres of town-owned land.
Clean Energy Collective of Carbondale discussed the plan with the Town Council on Monday. The council asked the town's financial advisory board to review it.
The company wants a no-cost, 40-year lease on the property to install 1,600 panels that would generate a combined 400 kilowatts.
The company would build, maintain and operate the facility while the town would own it.
The power would go into the grid through the Holy Cross Energy cooperative.
