COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Beginning Saturday, May 1, a pilot program debuts for a five-month test period as the El Paso County Clerk and Recorder's Office implements Saturday hours for the Union Town Center motor vehicle branch.

Office hours are from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The center is at the northwest corner of Research Parkway and Union Boulevard, in the Albertsons shopping center.

This office opened December 2009 and replaced the north branch at the Chapel Hills Mall.

"We anticipate a pretty busy Saturday service opening day on the first since it follows the last day of a renewal month for many vehicle owners or, in many cases, the end of their grace month," said Tony Anderson, motor vehice manager.

The center will be open on Saturdays from May through September and services reevaluated at that time, according to officials.

Information provided by El Paso County Clerk & Recorder Bob Balink.
