Grand Lake Mayor Judy Burke
DENVER (AP) -- Grand Lake Mayor Judy Burke is among 12 new members of the National Park System Advisory Board. Grand Lake is the western gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado.
Interior Secretary Ken Salazar announced the appointments Tuesday, saying the board advises him and the National Park Service director.
He says eight of the new members were part of the independent Second Century Commission, which submitted a report last year that included sweeping recommendations for the Park Service.
