WINDSOR, Colo. (AP) — Windsor High School officials are considering whether to use random alcohol and drug testing to cut abuse by students.

A meeting was planned on the proposal at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the high school's cafeteria.

School district officials say they've been exploring the idea for the last two years and now wants to hear from parents. Students would have to take random drug and alcohol tests to participate in extracurricular activities. Students who test positive would face a suspension from the activity and have to take counseling.

The school district is also considering tests of students on campus or at school events if there's reason to believe the students have been drinking or using drugs.
