Bella is available for adoption
COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A 2-year-old spayed Australian Shepherd named Bella is looking for a loving home.
Her prior owners moved away and surrendered her to the shelter.
"She is very sweet and likes everyone, even cats," says Stacey Candella with the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR), "However, she tends to want to be the alpha female, so we want Bella to go to a home where she is the only dog."
Bella's adoption fee is $98.
Candella says they've see a lot of pets dropped off at the humane society lately because of people moving. She says pets are part of the family and should not be left behind.
There are many resources that list pet-friendly housing in cities across the country.
There is information on Craigslist for rentals that will accept specific breeds of dog.
