COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Construction of the repairs on the underside of the Circle Drive bridge over Las Vegas and Hancock will begin on Saturday, April 10. The work is expected to last approximately one week.
The project improvements will include:
● Pier Cap repairs
● Concrete patching
● Waterproofing the concrete pier cap
On Saturday, beginning at 7:30 a.m., eastbound Circle Drive east of Janitell Road will be reduced to a single lane for repairs to the piers. Regular traffic flow should be restored by the following Saturday.
The city is in the initial stages of a project to address existing deteriorated conditions on the bridges on Circle Drive. This effort will begin the repair process so that the functional life of the structures can be extended.
Drivers should expect some delays to complete this work and use alternate routes when possible.
For the safety and expediency of construction and the safety of the traveling public, the city of Colorado Springs ask motorists to pay close attention to posted speed limits and signs through the project area. All construction activities are weather and resource dependent.
The project is funded by the Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority (PPRTA).
