COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — The zoo in Colorado Springs has found the first signs that a North American river otter that escaped in March is alive and in the area. Four trackers found otter tracks in mud beneath an overpass in the area Wednesday morning. The otter, named Kitchi, is one of four that escaped March 25 from the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo through a hole in the fence around a zoo enclosure. Three of the otters were recaptured and returned to their pen, but Kitchi remains at large. Kitchi weighs about 25 pounds and is about 4-feet long.
