WASHINGTON (AP) -- Federal prosecutors have filed terrorism charges against a pregnant Colorado woman in the so-called Jihad Jane case.
Jamie Paulin-Ramirez and her 6-year-old son flew from Ireland Friday to Philadelphia, where she was arrested and made a brief court appearance. Her son has been placed with child protective service workers.
She was detained in Ireland last month along with six others in the investigation into an alleged plot to kill a Swedish cartoonist whose drawing had offended many Muslims.
The seven were linked to Colleen LaRose, who prosecutors claim called herself "Jihad Jane" online.
Paulin-Ramirez's mother in Leadville insists her daughter isn't a monster. She says the alleged plotters "seduced a very lonely, lonely person."
