DENVER (AP) -- Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter is offering to sell state buildings if the state ever needs money to cover major emergencies.
Assets that could be sold include the Hanging Lake Tunnel on Interstate 70, worth $269 million, skyboxes and club seating at the University of Colorado stadium.
The list of assets is part of a deal struck by Gov. Bill Ritter to meet a requirement that the state set aside $268 million to cover emergencies under the Taxpayer's Bill of Rights.
Ritter negotiated a deal with budget makers last year that allows him to list $161 million in equity assets, including state buildings and facilities, to meet the requirement.
