DENVER (AP) — Colorado Sen. Michael Bennet is getting more campaign help from the White House.

The Democratic senator has a fundraiser Friday with Education Secretary Arne Duncan. The nation's top teacher and Bennet will then visit Denver schools and talk about education changes proposed by the White House.

Bennet was superintendent of Denver Public Schools before being appointed to the Senate last year. Bennet and Duncan talked in a Senate hearing this week about how the nation must do a better job recruiting and training teachers.

Duncan and Bennet will also tour a public elementary school in Denver and attend a roundatble discussion on teacher training.
