LONGMONT, Colo. (AP) -- The owner of a vacant flour mill in downtown Longmont says he will demolish part of the structure because of a fire more than a year ago.
Doug Grant told city officials on Monday that a five-story building at the mill would be razed, but not a nearby cluster of elevators, which weren't damaged.
Grant had considered trying to salvage the building, but city officials say he decided it wasn't feasible.
It's not clear what use the elevators and the rest of the 3-acre site will have. The Regional Transportation District plans to build a commuter rail station nearby but not on the mill site.
The February 2009 fire was ruled arson. Two 17-year-olds, a boy and a girl, pleaded guilty to criminal mischief and served jail time.
