CORTEZ, Colo. (AP) — A former jailer in southwest Colorado who admitted giving narcotics to inmates is now headed to jail himself.

Craig James Morrison of Cortez will spend 90 days in solitary confinement at the Montezuma County Jail after admitting he tried to distribute methamphetamine to an inmate through a pouch of chewing tobacco.

Morrison pleaded guilty to one count of official misconduct, a misdemeanor. He was sentenced this week. He also will spend five years on probation.
