COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Monday afternoon at about 1:30, Sand Creek High School staff member reported hearing possible gunshots and the sound a ricochet coming from across North Carefree Circle.
As a precaution, the school was placed on lockdown and the Colorado Springs Police Department responded to investigate.
An officer discovered that four students were across the street setting off fireworks.
Once confirming the situation was secure, the school was taken off of lockdown status. The lockdown lasted only a few minutes and did not affect the CSAP testing that was underway.
