COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) -- A Colorado Springs judge ordered a 19-year-old man to take out a newspaper ad warning of the dangers of drunken driving and apologizing for the single-vehicle accident that killed his roommate.

The judge also sentenced Dylan Timothy Salazar on Friday to four years in Colorado's Youth Offender prison in Pueblo for the death of 19-year-old David Mueller. Salazar pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide for the July accident on Garden of the Gods Road.

Investigators say Salazar had been drinking and was speeding when the accident happened and his car ended on its roof.

Mueller was a track star at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.

The ad is to be placed in the campus paper.
