SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- United Airlines says a threatening note that diverted a plane mid-flight to Salt Lake City Thursday did not contain a reference to a bomb as officials reported earlier.
United spokeswoman Robin Urbanski says she can't disclose the contents of the note. But she says the threat was considered credible.
The 757 carrying 168 passengers and six crew was en route from Denver to San Francisco when the note was found by a flight attendant in the galley.
Earlier in the day, officials from the Salt Lake City International Airport and the FBI had cited reports of a bomb threat.
Urbanski says the plane has been searched by Transportation Security Administration officials and cleared. Flight 751 was scheduled to take off from Salt Lake City about 5 p.m. Mountain Standard Time.
