COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. --
Nov. 4, 2008, will forever be known as one of the most historic days in African American history. It was the day the first African American was elected president of the United States.
Barack H. Obama became the 44th president of the greatest country in the free world on Jan. 20, 2009, shattering the belief that no African American could ever attain leadership of a country that once enslaved them.
Considering the history books are not closed on his presidency, and as of this writing Obama's life as president is public and highly politicized, I will not expound any further on our current Commander-in-Chief.
One thing is for certain, President Obama will always be a model for African Americans and what heights we can attain through hard work and education.
