COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Operation Christmas Child, working under Samaritan's Purse, delivers shoeboxes filled with donations to children in impoverished nations.
Last year, they donated more than 8.1 million boxes to more than 100 countries.
Colorado Springs collected thousands of shoeboxes and delivered some of them to Ecuador.
Sheila Cain returned from the mission in early February. She says the children were very excited to get these donations. In fact, she says they were "thrilled to receive what we would call a necessity."
Operation Christmas Child collects and delivers boxes throughout the year. They are always looking for helpers and donations. For more information, go to their Web site.
