COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Sabine and Swigert middle schools hosted a tour to honor Black History month on Friday.

Hasan Davis portrayed Angus Augustus Burleigh, a 19th century ex-slave, soldier and scholar who went on to become an acclaimed black educator and minister. In full Civil War uniform, he gave an account of Burleigh's life and simulated his emotions of that time.

Several hundred students saw Davis' program, sposored by Colorado Humanities.
