DENVER (AP) -- Colorado lawmakers are promising a marathon debate as the House takes up a plan by Gov. Bill Ritter to impose taxes on Internet purchases, junk mail, candy and soft drinks.

House Majority Leader Paul Weissmann, D-Louisville, told colleagues to bring their sleeping bags, tooth brushes and teddy bears when the House takes up 11 measures to balance the state budget on Friday.

The House Finance Committee spent 13 hours debating six of the bills on Wednesday and Republicans promise a major fight when the full House begins debate.
