DENVER (AP) -- Colorado business groups say a plan by Gov. Bill Ritter to impose taxes on Internet purchases, junk mail, candy and soft drinks will cost jobs.
Several dozen people from businesses across the state held a rally Thursday at the Capitol where they said the best way to solve the state's budget crisis and keep Colorado open for business is to avoid new taxes and fees to help them survive.
Ritter says businesses have to share the sacrifice and the best way to keep the state open for business is to avoid more cuts to education, hospitals and nursing homes.
