NEDERLAND, Colo. (AP) — The town of Nederland is the latest Colorado municipality considering whether to let voters decide if marijuana possession should decriminalized.

Nederland trustees will decide next month whether the question should be put to voters in this mountain town of about 1,400 residents northwest of Denver. A vote would be held in April.

Aspen and Leadville are also talking about putting marijuana decriminalization up for a vote.

Denver and Breckenridge have already voted to waive criminal penalties for possession of small amounts of marijuana by adults over 21.

Such measures are largely symbolic because marijuana possession remains a state crime.
