BRIGHTON, Colo. (AP) -- A white supremacist group in Colorado has a new enemy -- litter.

The chapter of the National Socialist Movement, who also calls itself America's Nazi Party, is participating in a state Adopt-A-Highway program.

The white supremacist group will be responsible for picking up trash along a 1-mile stretch of highway in a suburb north of Denver. A sign is already up in the area with the group's name on it.

A spokesman for the group, Lochbuie resident Neal Land, says the group is "doing good things."

State highway officials say they allowed the highway adoption because their lawyers said they could be in violation of the group's free speech if they issued a denial.
