WALSENBURG, Colo. (AP) -- A private prison operator says it intends to remove all of its 700 out-of-state inmates from a southern Colorado correctional facility.

Huerfano County Correctional Center spokesman Allan Kramer says the decision by Corrections Corporation of American makes the future of the Walsenburg facility uncertain, but added that officials there are looking for a new client.

All of the inmates are from Arizona. The Pueblo Chieftain reported Thursday that the Nashville, Tenn.,-based CCA plans to leave the Walsenburg prison sometime in April.

The prison about 145 miles south of Denver employs 188 people.
