DENVER (AP) — Authorities say an RTD bus ran a red light and caused multiple accidents that injured three people.

The RTD driver told investigators that the bus' brakes were not working when the accident happened Wednesday afternoon in southwest Denver. Authorities are looking into that claim but they have ticketed the driver in the meantime.

Authorities say the bus hit a Dodge Ram after running the red light, and the truck then hit a minivan. Officials say the initial impact also caused the bus to hit another car.

No one on the bus was injured but authorities say three people in the vehicles were injured and taken to hospitals. Authorities say their injuries are not life-threatening.

RTD is also investigating the accident.
