DENVER (AP) — U.S. Sen. Mark Udall will be among the participants at Denver's 25th annual parade honoring Martin Luther King Jr.

The parade which starts at City Park Monday morning and ends at the Civic Center is one of the largest in the country. About 20,000 people participated in the parade last year, which happened a day before Barack Obama was sworn in as president.

The event is called a "marade" because it's a combination march and parade.

King's birthday was declared a state holiday on 1984.
