COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) -- Republican gubernatorial candidate Scott McInnis says he'll bring more military-related and energy industries to Colorado and focus on creating high-paying jobs.
The former congressman spoke Wednesday in Colorado Springs at a meeting with about 50 supporters.
Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper had a similar jobs message when he said Tuesday he would seek the Democratic nomination for governor.
On Wednesday, McInnis called President Barack Obama's federal stimulus package "a sugar high" and said "we're about to run out of sugar." He attacked big government, unions, taxes, new or higher fees for various state services, and undue regulation but said he supports the Taxpayer's Bill of Rights, written by Douglas Bruce of Colorado Springs.
