LOGAN, Utah (AP) -- A man has pleaded guilty in the 2008 death of a woman whose body was found by a fisherman near the banks of the Logan River.
Robert W. Ferretti, of Pueblo, Colo., was arrested in March 2009. He was charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of 33-year-old Tiffany Britt Jarmon.
The Herald Journal in Logan reported on its Web site that a five-day trial for the 43-year-old Ferretti was set to start Monday but he agreed to a plea bargain. He pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and an obstructing justice charge against him was dropped.
Sentencing for Ferretti is set for Feb. 10.
Prosecutors said detectives linked Ferretti to the slaying when they found Jarmon's blood in an SUV registered to him.
