COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- An early morning fire in Colorado Springs has displaced an entire apartment building of residents. Fire crews began arriving on scene around 3 a.m. at Pinons Apartments, 3615 Airport Road.
Firefighters say the fire began in a stairwell, spreading to the second and third floors.
Power has been shut down with smoke damage throughout the building.
Firefighters say about six families have been displaced. The Red Cross will be assisting those residents.
Several people were treated for smoke inhalation, but no serious injuries are reported.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
