Proceeds to help animal shelters
COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Besides world-class winter sports, there are two things that Colorado is known for -- its quality hand-crafted beer and its affection for dogs. Now, a new book explores the relationship between the two.
It's called "The BrewDogs of Colorado" and it was a summer-long project for Lauren Olsen, one of the book's contributors. "They love their dogs, and they love brewing beer," Olsen said about the dozens of breweries around the state who were happy to showcase their prized pooches.
One common thread that Olsen found among all breweries was their passion for supporting animal shelters, and that's why a percentage of proceeds from the sale of the book go toward helping DreamPower Animal Rescue in Colorado Springs.
John Swetman with DreamPower said that although their primary goal is to match animals with good owners, they also conduct a variety of outreach programs with the community.
The books can be ordered online (be sure to use the coupon code to credit DreamPower) or at the following retail locations in Southern Colorado: Trinity Brewing Company, Bristol Brewing Company, Phantom Canyon Brewing Company, Rock Bottom Brewing Company and Coaltrain Wine & Spirits.
