The Colorado State Patrol (CSP) is investigating a fatal rollover accident early Thursday morning.
It happened on I-25 at milemarker 125 near Fountain. CSP was initially called at 1:45 a.m. for a car versus deer crash.
Minutes later, a second vehicle swerved to avoid the crash in the right hand lane, rolling over and ejecting both occupants.
A female victim was pronounced dead on scene.
A male victim has been taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The occupants of the car that hit the deer were not injured.
As of 6 a.m., traffic on I-25 was down to one lane.
