DENVER (AP) -- Police say shots were fired and a suspect was wounded during an attempted holdup at a medical marijuana dispensary in Denver.
Authorities say two men entered the shop Wednesday morning and confronted the owner and an employee.
Police spokesman Joe Ramirez says a fight erupted and multiple shots were fired.
The owner summoned police with a 911 call, and officers apprehended the injured suspect. He was taken to a hospital but the details of his injuries weren't known.
The second suspect was being sought. Seven area schools were placed on full or partial lockdown during the hunt.
Dispensaries have sprung up across the state under a voter-approved constitutional amendment allowing medical marijuana.
State and local officials are struggling to regulate them.
