Woman injured in Pueblo car crash

PUEBLO, COLO. -- A 22-year-old driver lost control of the 1991 Dodge Stealth she was driving at approximately 8 a.m. Tuesday and is hospitalized with multiple life-threatening injuries.

Candace Bowers was driving eastbound on Joplin Avenue approaching the curve just west of Portland Avenue when when apparently over-corrected, causing the vehicle to slide sideways and off the south side of the road. Her vehicle struck a piece of construction equpment parked there.

Bowers was transported to Parkview Hospital.

Police believe icy road conditions may be a factor in the crash.

The investigation of the incident is ongoing.
