BOULDER, Colo. (AP) — Police in Boulder say an accident that killed a pedestrian on U.S. 36 is expected to close part of the highway for several hours. Investigators closed westbound lanes of the highway at Foothills Parkway after a westbound SUV struck a man around 8:20 p.m. Thursday, just west of the Foothills Parkway exit. Investigators are trying to determine why the pedestrian was on the highway. His name and age weren't immediately available. Police say several people in the SUV, including at least one child, were taken to the hospital. They were expected to survive. (Copyright 2009 The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.)
