COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) -- Free swine flu shots are being offered in the Colorado Springs area to people who might not otherwise get them.
Johnny Rea of Penrose-St. Francis Health Services says at least 1,000 doses will be available. Clinics start Thursday. Vaccinations will be given to at-risk individuals, including pregnant women, parents and caretakers of children younger than 6 months, anyone 6 months through 24 years, people 25 through 64 years who have chronic health conditions, and health care workers.
The Colorado Springs Interfaith and Health Program is offering the shots. Members include Penrose-St. Francis, Memorial Health System, the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs nursing school, Westside CARES and the El Paso County Department of Health and Environment.

Thursday, 9-11:30 a.m., Ecumenical Social Ministries, 201 N. Weber, Colorado Springs.
Saturday, 3-5 p.m. South East YMCA, Jetwing and Chelton, Colorado Springs.
Dec. 7, 1-3 p.m., Tri-Lakes Cares, 235 Jefferson St., Monument.
Dec. 10, 1-3 p.m., Rocky Mountain Calvary Chapel, 4285 N. Academy Blvd., Colorado Springs.
Dec. 11, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Marion House, 14 W. Bijou, Colorado Springs.
