COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — A judge postponed the trespassing trial for anti-tax crusader Doug Bruce because of leaflets handed out in front of the courthouse telling potential jurors to use their conscience to make their decision, not a judge's direction.

The Colorado Springs municipal judge made the ruling Friday after prosecutors told him about the leaflets. The judge rescheduled the trial for Dec. 4.

Bruce says he was not involved in handing out the leaflets.

Bruce and another man were arrested in August after police said they refused to leave a Costo store. Bruce and Douglas Stinehagen were collecting signatures for a ballot measure but the store manager claimed they were making a scene.

Bruce is the author of Colorado's Taxpayer Bill of Rights constitutional amendment.
