COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs police captured a suspect Friday morning shortly after he robbed the Wells Fargo bank at 90 S. Cascade Ave. just before 10:00.

The 47-year-old man had just fled through the front doors of the bank and was in front of the building when responding officers matched him with the description provided by bank employees minutes before. He was carrying cash that allegedly had been stolen from the bank.

No weapon was produced or threatened by the suspect during the course of the robbery.

There were eight employees and three customers in the bank at the time of the incident. No one was injured.

The suspect was taken to the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center and booked for robbery.

The name and photo of the suspect was not released, as additional investigation is ongoing.
