COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police Department apprehended and arrested Steven Sanchez and Gail Rennie early Saturday after a brief pursuit in connection with theft of automobile tires and wheels from J&K Automotive, 3745 Interpark Dr.
A third suspect ran from the area and escaped.
After report of the theft at approximately 6 a.m., police searched other vehicles at the business and found three persons in a vehicle, ducking down trying to hide. The driver backed up the vehicle and drove off, according to police.
The brief vehicle pursuit came to a stop when the suspects' vehicle collided with a curb. All three suspects got out and ran.
Sanchez and Rennie were captured by officers. A police canine unit searched the area but the third suspect was not found.
Both suspects arrested were treated for minor injuries sustained in the collision. The accident resulted in no property damage other than to the suspect vehicle.
Both suspects were arrested for felony theft of motor vehicle parts.
