Temperatures dropped Monday
COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A major storm has brought cooler temperatures, winds, and even snow to some areas in southern Colorado Monday.
The recent storm brought fall early to Colorado Springs, while the scene was more like winter atop Pikes Peak.
Snow levels dropped to around 6500 feet. Accumulations were kept at higher elevations due to warm ground temperatures, but the sudden cold spell allowed for blowing snow to accumulate is some areas, expecially above timberline.
Around Colorado Springs and Pueblo, Monday had mainly just rain and a rain/snow mix.
The cold temperatures will continue overnight.
Some areas will see freezing temperatures, allowing for an early first freeze for the 2009-2010 season.
