COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Local viewers who don't arrive home from work Monday through Friday until after 6 p.m. no longer have to miss early evening newscasts.
As of September 16, FOX21 is the only television station in southern Colorado that now airs a 6:30 p.m. news show.
"KXRM is filling the void for local viewers with our new 6:30 p.m. newscast," said CEO and President Steve Dant. "We are the only station in the market that broadcasts a news show at this time for viewers whose travel time from work gets them home after 6 p.m. and they still want local news.
FOX21 News at Nine anchors Joe Cole and Stephanie Pytlinski alternate duties of hosting the new 6:30 p.m. show.
The 30-minute program features local and national news, evening breaking news, previews of the late night news when necessary, and on-air guests as news topics call for special appearances.
FOX21 news staff believe this addition is timely and that southern Colorado viewers will appreciate this new, convenient time to hear about local events and happenings of the day.
