COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- * The Colorado Springs Police Department presents its 24th annual Medal of Valor Luncheon today at the Broadmoor Hotel. Awards will be presented by CSPD to police officers who display heroism, courage and initiative above and beyond the call of duty while protecting the citizens of Colorado Springs. The luncheon begins at noon at the Broadmoor's International Center and will feature a dramatic performance by the police department's drill team and a special tribute to the canine unit. * The El Paso County Sheriff's Office will host a community meeting for the Cimarron Hills area. Sheriff Terry Maketa, along with his staff, will meet with local residents to discuss crime patterns and statistics in the area. All residents are encouraged to attend and participation and questions are welcome.
