AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. (AP) -- A 2007 Air Force Academy graduate has died after his vehicle was hit by a roadside bomb in Iraq.

Defense Department officials say 24-year-old 1st Lt. Joseph Helton of Monroe, Ga., died Tuesday in the explosion near Baghdad.

He was assigned to the 6th Security Forces Squadron at MacDill Air Force Base, Fla.

Academy officials say Helton is the 11th graduate killed while serving in Iraq.
